Why does she like me, but not other people?

probably just has to with how she gets along with people. she probably gets along with you well so therefore does not have any reason to act in anyway hostile towards you. however she might not get along with others so she doesn't really deal with any crap very well. or maybe because she knows these kids better she feels more comfortable to goof around with them.

Because you are new. Do whatever you are doing now, just give it more time. Her true colors will show eventually. Either she really is a jerk and people have reason to dislike her, or kids have spread rumors, she's sick of it and acts like a jerk to everyone who treated her badly. Dont follow the croud, wait and see what happens with your friendship by giving this more time., My bet is that she is a good person who has gotten a bad rap, hopefully she turns out to be a great new friend to you.
