I got this definition of sindoor off google:
Sindoor (Hindi-Urdu: सिन्दूर or سندور) is a traditional red or orange-red colored cosmetic powder from the Indian subcontinent, usually worn by married women along the parting of their hair.[1] Usage of sindoor denotes that a woman is married in many Hindu communities, and ceasing to wear it usually implies widowhood. The main component of traditional sindoor is usually vermilion.
From your dream symbols it sounds like 'the dye has been cast'. It is a rather disturbing dream I must say and if I were you I'd be praying for protection and to be cleared of any bad influence both for yourself and your friend.

There is an indian festival called holi, where they throw colored powder on people. Maybe it wasn't sindoor and it was holi color.
