I must say that windows 7 is better than windows xp. There are some reasons to like windows 7.......
** secure your drives with Bitlocker drive encryption.
** parental controls to block unwanted contents.
** you can control access with user accounts.
** Sticky notes.
** You can still run windows xp program in ur windows 7 OS.
** it's easy to find files and programs with windows search.
** You can share and protect ur files and folders.
and so on........
The above are the features which is not available in windows XP. These are some amazing features which enhanced windows 7 and make it better than windows XP........

Security features are more advance in Win7, Better interface, Overall faster(if you cover its system requirements).
Plus I believe that in near future Microsoft will terminal support for XP which will leave you outdated and will have software compatibility issues then

windows 7
most support direct x 11 support
should be run on better systems altho can be run on almost anything recent there are limitations of hardware and runing on older hardware will increse heat output of gpu video device and cpu be warned will consume more power then xp on a laptop as well
win7 is less prone to invasion due to most software being out of ver with xp and alot of known holes phished out for both platforms
total crap unless using pro ver
expect issue on specific hardware features and drivers where not expressly described as compatable
ir using ultimate on my win7 ready laptop drivers for win7 64bit do not load properly in os enviroment must be manuely extracted and devicemanager pointed to files for intilization and proper setup
so id go with win7 home prem or pro on almost everything win7 worthy
32bit for 2gb ram or less and 64bit for anything over 2gb ram unless noted that cpu cannot run in 64bit ie netbooks atom cpus will only run 32bit win7 disturbutions
ability to use system compatability with non win7 driver sftware
ability to use ready boost to increse paging file temp ram page file for speedier executions of files on disk and execution this is not equal to real ram but using a hi class speed usb flash stick 4-8gb u can expect a 30% or so system performance increse this is not always true to to the book but the system will feel faster to the user overall esp in bootup and shutdown and file execution
win7 is the way to go dont be in the dust i would use xp if using pc for personal media server for home ent or for small office non daunting tasks old as hell guest internet device or if u have under 2gb ram go and use xp
dont get confuzed some dell systems have a p4 sticker ht dual core not really baby dual core cause 1 core is real and 1 core is emulated cache size on these if 4mb will be kinda decent for a crap pc
but max ram in most older units is 2gb thus ram is maybe very slow thus +2gb of slow ram doesnt mean your win7 worthy just means its barly possibly to run so 1gb of ddr2 800mhz ram and a 128mb hd video is better then a 64mb video with shared ram and a a 512mb video card with 2gb ram 400mhz so mhz matters alot on ram god could so so deep into it but really
get a win7 not cause it may be the best but cause in long run its whats the now and offers alot better expansion over time but u have to couple it with good hardware otherwise it dont matter
win7 is like a fancy xp to me or a fixed vista to most
xp is just sadly outdated man get over it it will run fast tho it uses about 200mb ram at stock sp1 and some slimed ver custom up to 700mb ram
win7 uses i think 700 ram right out the box and can eat it up fast but it does so because of what u get back witch is lush graphiclly infused system basicly vista was made to compete with mac and win7 to finnaly be pretty the way vista failed because of a rush to show up mac
funny mac uses intel software and hardware and hard but doable on some normal win7 pc can be hacked to run mac just a matter of compatable known drivers for mac for your devices on your non mac then a backbreaking guide to setup
i heard mac was going to be making a ver of y=thier a4 a8 core cpu like iphone and may be re enetering the cpu game in 2 years so that would be nuts to see how that pans out with all the world doing flips for 3d and hd
xp sp3 pro widgets supported and advanced profiles via windows blind or other
suggested update asap after install security
suggested update to browser asap majoy security from 7- 8 then 8 to 9 sorry 9 uses gpu more to display then cpu this can cause webbrowser performance drop on older sysems with ie9
can be run on basic systems
no direct x 11 suppor for gaming no mater
no ram support at higher levels
legacey users opt for xp because of its slimed look and easy navigation xp was phased out but held such market microsoft was forced to continue support even tho they did not want to
expect more legacy devices to run in xp
i say this most win7 running hardware will run xp so do this get a nice win7 setup then wipe it reload xp then reload win7 on 2nd partition then ur damn pc will dual boot 2 systems then u dont have to worry what is best haha u will have both in 1
