How can I reduce the acidity of my tomato sauce?

It gives me heart burn.

    Buddy Valastro says to add a teaspoon of sugar for evey 26 ounce jar or can of tomatoes to cut the acidity.

    I put in some sugar, about 1/2 tsp. Stir it in. Then I also put in same amt of salt to counter balance overall flavor. You can add even more of the salt if you wish (it's to your taste).

    Add baking soda. A teaspoon. A chef told me this secret. It works.

    Tomatoes are a low acid food.Are you sure that's what's giving you heartburn?

    I used brown sugar the amount is up to you. depends on your taste
