What would football be like without the offside rule?

What do you think would happen if you got two teams of professional footballers (soccer players) and got them to play a 90-minute match in which there was no offside rule?

How would the strategy and the play be changed by not having to worry about being offside? What do you think?

It would be a bit like Gaelic football.

The defenders would play much much deeper and there would be far more strikers at the expense of midfielders.

The midfield position would become pretty much obsolete without offside, as defenders would just run it out or boot it out, instead of passing it through the midfield area.

It would be a lot like handball where the team defends and attacks together, with a lot of counter-attacking.

It would lead to far less intelligent football and more ugly football.

No it wouldnt. It would make football far too easy as you could just goal scrounge. You wouldnt need to put any effort in what so ever as one cross to your forwards and you have basically scored. Football with offside is better i think, even though it is very annoying when you get ruled offside.
