start menu isnt working, windows 7?
ive got windows 7 on my laptop and i clicked the start bar in the bottom left and it isnt working, nothing along the task bar is working. It's as if the 'hyperlink' as it were has gone, first answer that actually works gets top answer.

You will need to use "Control+Alt+Delete" to get to the task manager, go to processes and hit explorer.exe and hit "End Process".
Then, File > New Task, and type explorer.exe. If this doesn't work, restart the computer.

Shut off , restart seen it many times at work with xp, not sure if this is your problem. If not then you have a trojan. Download combofix and unhide from bleeping computer.com and run those in safe mode.

turn the computer off then restart it. Or click the windows ( key ) button next to ctrl and alt keys.
