Microsoft Excel 2007 question concerning If/Then Statements?

What would the IF/Then statement look like if you wanted to copy the contents of a cell to another cell if and only if the first cell was a certain color background, if this can be done at all.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Update:

What I am trying to do is take a master schedule of four separate shifts and have them populate on to each of their own tabs in an Excel workbook so the team members can pull up just their teams schedule if they so desire. I would like to have this set up so all I have to do is update the colors and the positions on the master schedule and the tabs would change without having to manipulate them each year.

Update 2:

I thought I would have to go the VB route I was hoping for an easier way since my VB is not that strong since I haven't used it in a while.

Edit: please provide more information on which column you wish to color code and the actual sheet names you will use to separate by 'shift'.

This cannot be done using formulas in Excel 'proper'. You would have to create an event handler or macro in VBA.

What are you specifically wishing to do?
