Bilbo Baggins is a fictional character created by JRR Tolkien. He's not real, he's not a myth.

Bilbo Baggins of the Shire? The one that hunts witches? Aye kind sir, I believe he is real.

There are many myths about tiny little semi-literate, entirely useless creatures in the world -- Bilbo is just one more.

And if Bilbo thinks he's real, he should probably get a second opinion.

Bilbo himself, Believe it or not, Was actually based on the great writer Tolkien! Tolkien made Bilbo seem like himself. If you look at the link below it will give you much better detail than myself!

He is a character in three novels, so he is neither real nor a myth. Myths are ancient tales about gods, and a 20th Century novel is not a myth.

A MYTH? Is that an acronym for "Moron Yelling Twaddle Heatedly"? Because he is certainly that. He may also be a "Mincing Yellow Toad of Hell" or even a "Man Yanking theTesticles of Himself"
