Naming your daughter after a song?

My friend says this was cliche, but I think if the song means a lot to you, it's a good name. When I have children I want to name my daughter Suzanna Leigh, and call her Suzy-Leigh, after the song We're Going To Be Friends by The Write Stripes. I've always loved this song and I want to sing it to my daughter and let her hear her name and feel special :)

"Walk with me, Suzy-Leigh, through the parks and by the trees..." <3

BQ: What's your opinion on Suzanna Leigh and Suzy-Leigh as a name?

Update:

I'm not with child, or plan to be anytime soon, but I was just curious.

As long as the name in the song is something like Diamond I think its very sweet. Suzanna Leigh is beautiful and I love that song too!

BQ: I think its beautiful and the nickname is adorable.

Suzanne Leigh & Suzanna Leigh are both nice names. I'd opt for Suzanne. Suzanne Leigh is the name of a friend, & she's a lovely person. Pretty, bright, funny, etc.

    Happy Holidays!

It's okay if the name is actually decent. Like Layla or Julia, which are both from songs (Layla by Eric Clapton and Julia by the Beatles). But Suzy-Leigh? Your kid's not going to like it, I guarantee it, and you wouldn't want the kid to hate the song because she hates the name.

I think that you should name that little princess whatever you want to. Personally, I think that name is very pretty, and it has a wonderful story behind it. And btw, Congrats!
