I need to install Ubuntu 11.10 on my computer, but I get errors?
Okay, so install ubuntu on my flashdrive, boot up using the flash drive, and it goes to a screen, not at all like on Youtube. It is a small box, with a black background with the Ubuntu logo twice, and in the box it gives several options, like help, etc. Then when I choose to go to install, and a command line style thing comes up after loading. It says "Welcome to Ubuntu 11.10 ... for details" (... signifying I left stuff out). How do I load it all up and use it, as an OS! The reason I got. Thanks for your help. Did I do something wrong? Ty.

Can You Help Me Dual Install Mac OS X On My PC? I thought I'd answered this question for you but apparently I didn't so I'll come back to it later,
Ubuntu is far from being the best Linux distribution release. There are many more releases that are far better than Ubuntu, including the one I was going to inform you about that is like the Mac OS/x desktop but far superior with better 3D animated desktop graphics, I would recommend you have a look at these

If you have a 64 bit system then check this one out It's a mind blowing operating system

11.10 has had some bugs in it and getting it to work on USB requires that your particular usb supports an OS booting from it and the file system structure required. The hardware is unrelated to if you wrote Linux to the device, just merely if the copy is usable.
Best test is to use a Live CD (of type CD-R) for now and use the USB to safe files to, if desired. Too, the CD can not be infected (it has already been written to) and there are no temp files to delete (when you power off from cd, you were never there)! Quite secure and neat, just slower as apps initially load (of course, cd drives are slow).
