What's the difference between Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST?

spoiler: halo 3:ODST is the occurrences that leads up to the halo 3 campaign, ODST is just a game that gives the gamer more detail in the events that won the war, it also gives you experience in having the odds against them due to not being a war machine, so you cannot just run through it, u have to take your time and be strategic, halo ODST actually lines up with halo 3 to the point where you see the covenant uncover 'The Ark' which is the ending of the Halo 3 ODST game, ODST does not have its own multiplayer gaming but as you know it comes with a multiplayer disc for halo 3, so buying the halo 3 game will only give you the campaign

Halo 3 is MUCH better and important campaign wise. ODST was good, but Halo 3 was amazing. ODST = normal humans. Halo 3 = enhanced super soldier called a spartan, the iconic Master Chief. And ODST was originally only suppose to be a DLC, while Halo 3 is a full fledged game. One thing that ODST beats Halo 3 in is the soundtrack. It's incredible.

Just get Halo Reach or wait for Halo 4.

Actually, they are both VERY different games. Halo 3's main character is Master Chief, and you go along with an elite named The Arbiter.

Halo 3 has a different (and longer/better) campaign. definitely worth getting, as Gamestop has it for $7.99, but right now theyre doing a sale for $4.99!

in ODST i think you're one of the normal soldiers, in the other halos your the master chief
