What do you think D-Day stands for?

I didn't know what it meant before we learned about it in history, and I want to see what the community knows. :)

    The invasion of France.

    Normandy beach

    It was also the largest sea to land invasion ever know to man.

    It was the day the United States invaded I think France in WW2, not sure what D stands for though

    Our history teacher told us that it stands for nothing.

    Is it possibly something to do with france, I think. Was it when they attacked Germany?
