Should India be legally bound under the Kyoto Protocol?
India is under pressure to sign and ratify the Kyoto Protocol (forcing it to cut carbon emissions). India’s stand is that a voluntary domestic pledge should suffice. Do you think India should give in to EU demands, and be legally bound in its duty to save the environment?

No it is not the sole responsibility of India.
India is already short of resources and has many other situations(unaccountable) to deal with.
Maybe the first world countries and many other intelligent provinces are required to check their approach towards resources may it be pollution of our environment or reckless usage of other necessary natural resources (which they already might have been engaged in);
But India is in no situation right now to be bounded under such projects.
India's stand of voluntary domestic pledge is appropriate.

It seems Kyoto Protocol is outdated. CO2 emissions have increased considerably. Steps should be taken to replace Kyoto Protocol with something more suitable for the future.
Regarding India's take, India must watch the reactions of other countries and then react. That's what I think.

No... Compare to the develop nations in EU, North America and china ... Indian carbon emissions is much lower. All the develop countries need to give and fund fair share of what the carbon emission they are producing. At this point, US & Chain who are world top carbon emission countries are just funding fractions of dollars to off set on what carbon emission they are producing. Until this issue was sorted out Indian need to stay way of Kyoto Protocol. This protocol directly effect our GDP and industrial growth at this point of time but we need to take some good measurements with in India to control the environment pollution and public hazard materials(The law should be some thing like our own Nuclear law "no

This is not a real time to ratify the Kyoto Protocol, because we all are suffering due to GHG emission of industrialized countries since past to till now. The situation of India at ground level is totally different rather than industrialized countries, we can be able to ratify the Kyoto Protocol in near future may be later 20 years to come at the level of Industrialized countries, if same pace of economic development would be going on.

The EU is pushing hard the developing nations like India and China to sign the Kyoto protocol the promises and standards of which they themselves could not filled up in a given time frame. It will affect the growth rate of the countries and consequently European nations get benefited, industrialization of which nations in past are responsible for the global warming and pollution.
Also the policies of the India are very clean and clear about the issue that`s why the India forces a firm climate breakthrough at Durban recently
There is no need for India to sign the k-protocol since India`s voluntary domestic pledge formula is as bankable as the nuclear policies and records of country because of which India signs the deal of nuclear cooperation with the nuclear powered countries and now the Nuclear Supplier Group members.

No. There are countries who release way more pollution and yet they refuse to sign the Kyoto Protocol, I believe those countries should be sought after first. In India's case, it does not even emit that much pollution.

Of course, forget what the world does, we need to look at ourselves first. Before laying our expectations at other countries, we must act ourselves. We need to provide our bit foremost. Besides I think this will be a great step toward India's development.So yes we must be legally bound under the Kyoto Protocol. Not for any particular individual but for the world. We too need to set an example sometimes.

At Any Cost India Should not be Legally bound under this Protocol

Yes, if this protocol provide the cost of carbon emission reduction and make money transfer of about 100 crore or more to india from the developed country by charging them some kind of fine for producing huge emissions in the earlier decades. This protocol will reduce the growth rate of developing countries.
