how do you compress a file?

yahoo mail maximum file attachment is only 25Mb . I zipped a 32Mb video file and still it says that its 32Mb file and I cant send it to my friend. Do I need to compress instead of zip? how do I do it? anyone out there who could instruct me in detail? step by step? thank you.

    use the program from this website http://how-to-zip-a-file.com/ to zip your file with a 2 parts archive.

    then send those parts separately. that's the solution.

  • Use WeTransfer to send big files. It is free and up to 2 GB can be sent at a time. Been using it for years and never had a problem.

    Try to drag and drop the folder into your zip folder

    you can use 7zip, winrar or HJsplit to split up your file into two parts and send it seperately.
