My 11 year old brother has been watching "R Rated" TV shows... Should I tell someone?

I'm 14 and I have an 11 year old brother. A few months ago he was watching a movie and I was sitting next to him and I was on my laptop. I heard what the people on the movie were saying and Googled the age restriction.. It said "18" or "R Rated"... So I told him and he was really responsible and turned it off:)...

Last night he was at a sleepover and when he got home, he said to me "I watch the most hilarious thing last night!!" And he told me about it so I said "Wow! That sounds a bit weird!" Or something so he said "Yeah.. It was restricted 18" so I asked him why he watched it.etc and he said it wasn't bad and told me not to tell my parents...

But I'm really worried that he may be being exposed to the wrong things but I also don't want to lose his trust:(.. Should I tell someone or not?:( xxx

Update:

We're not allowed to watch stuff too mature for us... I mean, why exactly would it have restrictions then? I can't watch anything which is 16 restricted without my parents, or if I'm going to the movies, my parents will read up on it first! So yes, they're strict about that stuff and I do really think it's a big deal! The stuff that's even 13 is so detailed these days and I'd hate to know what 18 restrictions are like....

I think you shouldn't tell your parents, besides from what you have said it seems your parents will discover he's been watching them anyway.

The 18 age certificate on films means that the film has more swearing/drug use/graphic sex/bloody gore etc than would be acceptable on a 15 certificate.

In all honesty when i was 13 i was watching 18 films and i turned out fine, unless he starts acting strange or abnormal then there is nothing to worry about, he might watch something a little too 'adult' and freak himself out.

R rated things are generally not that bad. Just either gory or full of sex. If it's full of sex, he would have found most of that out at school. If it's gore, it's just fake blood and what not. It's not that bad. If he was being exposed to something disturbing, he would feel uncomfortable and turn it off/forward through.

I've been watching R rated movies since I was 8. I'm a totally responsible person, and yes, I've seen sex scenes in movies, but it never harmed me.

You should tell someone, otherwise he is going to keep watching things that are too mature for him. He will find out those things one day; he is too young right now, though.

I honestly don't think it's THAT big of a deal. Its not even like you're much older than him at all. But if you feel like its serious then tell your parents I guess.

If your parents don't allow it then you should tell them. If they don't care then there is nothing you can do.

You sound like a tool, why don't you be cool and let him do what he wants, he's obviously not "confused", he said it was funny

There's much worse he could be doing.
