Next best thing to becoming a doctor? (UK)?

Hiya,

I haven't actually got any grades yet i'm going back to school this September as i had to leave school at 15 and tutor myself at home to be a carer to my mum who was ill. This meant, though i did get support from my tutors at school who sent my work i didn't get the best grades. A for English then C and above for my others. Since then i've decided i would love to be a doctor so am re-taking my G.C.S.E's. I know how hard it is so i wanted a back up in case things don't go to plan.

I was thinking about either a paramedic or a nurse and was wondering what the entry requirements were for those in the UK and any other info you could give me would be great

Thanks.

Sadly I doubt you will be able to produce consistent enough results for medicine. They want consistent high grades in the science subjects and maths right through.

But lots of other options in the caring profession.
