Do you think there is too much advertisements on TV now?

as we see more new televisions with flat screens, easy to carry NOT like the old televisions where you need two people to carry them and better picture and sound quality BUT what has not improved is more repeats and more and more advertisements which can interrupt a program that you want to watch. is it not time we can have the opportunity to switch off advertisements on TV just by pressing a button or switch advertisements back on, OR choose what kind of adverts you would like to see for example: DIY, cars & motorbikes and fashion!

    Hi,

It makes me angry the amount of advertisements that are shown. I realise that they pull in a lot of income from ads, which is fine but they used to be for 3 minutes each time, now its more like 5 minutes each time. I don't know about making a cup of tea, I almost feel like I could cook dinner during the ads. However, we are told that if we didn't have these then we would be paying more for our TV license so we don't really get to win.

Ads are a pain. I also think that most ads are designed to annoy the viewer by trying and failing to be funny. But I would prefer putting up with them than paying for a tv licence especially since it has been announced that we will be paying for setting up new local tv channels.

Simple solution, SKY + so you can pause the station, then wait 5 mins and skip all the adds, or record your programs and watch them when u want, then when an add comes up you can just skip it.

Netflix is not doing well and I saw a blockbuster commercial cut off Netflix commercial.
