Go to Japan. You won't be able to drive the car anyways.
And just to correct something, you can't just pick up and leave to work in Japan. You will be on a tourist visa which forbids doing paid work. Unless you have a bachelor's degree, you could apply for a work visa, but all that, plus other stuff, would not be sorted out in time for April 16.

Personally, I would go to Japan. It is an experience you will remember all your life, and you get to see your cousins wedding. It would be interesting to see a wedding in another country. Besides, if you can't get the driving test, the car is pretty much useless. You can always get a car later, but this is only going to happen once.

I'd buy the car. Japan will come and go in a few days. A car will be with you for a couple years, at least. You can always go to Japan later. You can sell your car and buy a ticket, but you can't sell your experience in Japan and buy a car (unless you're a really good writer).

Well if you can't afford anything that goes alongside the car, you'd just have wasted money on the car and not be able to drive it!
Go Japan and save for your car and insurance, etc afterwards.

How many weddings in Japan do you expect to be invited to in your life time? What good is a car you can't drive? Besides, this may surprise you but you can always buy MORE cars LATER in your life. But don't expect to be invited to many (if any more) weddings especially in another country.

I would go to Japan and teach English part-time while you're in the country. There are many English teaching jobs because of the teachers that left because of the earthquakes and radiation scare. If you stay in Japan and teach for 2 to 3 months you'll probably save enough for the ticket that got you to Japan and a little more. Just a thought!
Hope it helps bud!!
