If your public library has Overdrive downloadables, you can borrow e-books with your library card.
Of course, Amazon has loads of free Kindle books. You can read those if you download the free kindle app for your computer or smartphone

Almost 80% of the books you're searching for can be found on Google. You just have to Google for the .pdf format. Just Google: (insert_book_title_here).pdf and download from there. If you're on comp, just save to it your Desktop. If you're on iPhone, iPad, it will be downloaded straight into your iBooks app.
You can borrow free books from Overdrive (For a period of 21 days) Just log in from your local library web.
And you can read free, unpublished books from Wattpad.
