Can speed reading help you on the SAT?
If I learn how to speed read can it help me on the SAT on the critical reading section? How should I approach this section. Thanks

Sure, speed reading can help. Of course, if you can skim the passages and obtain only useful information from it, then that will help as well.
What i typically do is read the italicized summary at the top to get a feeling of what the passage is about, and then read the first paragraph. I then move onto the questions, checking for the things I should be looking for. I then go back to the message, skim through the lines which pertain to what the question is asking, and extrapolate information from the text immediately above and below it.
Of course, if I have extra time in the end, I read the passage in full to make sure my answers make sense.
