What is wrong with my memory?
I work as a waitress and people will ask me things as I'm walking by. I'll say "sure i'll get that" and then instantly forget that they even asked me anything. Also, if I'm told to do something I will say "okay" and then instantly forget. But my memory is good in other matters. I can remember the order of things that have happened and I can remember pretty specifically something that happened a long time ago. I'm also good at remembering things that I have studied because my mind remembers things by associating words with colours and numbers. For example, if "ignorance" was the third reason for a conflict, ignorance would remind me of the colour orange and the colour orange would remind me of the number 3 so I would remember that. But my short term memory is horrible. Is it because of my diet? should I see a doctor?

You're probably not focusing on the things that people are telling you to do. Maybe you have other things on your mind you just aren't aware of things they say or you're just distracted. Also, may not be fully aware that someone is asking you something, like you hear someone talking to you but you don't realize what they're saying enough for it to sink in. That could be caused by tiredness or even stress, or hunger. As for the diet, I'm not exactly sure if that does affect short term memory. It wouldn't hurt to see a doctor and get his or her opinion on it. But sometimes people's short term memory is horrible. I can remember my best friend from 1st grade but I can't remember if I ate dinner last night :) Sometimes it's just how people are but if you're really concerned that by all means talk to a doctor.
Hope this helps a little :)

You could have ADD and that defiantly affects your memory. The best way to know for sure is to see a therapist, they can give you the ADD flash test and will let you know the results. Then your next step would be to see a psychiatrist and they can help you by prescribing a stimulant medication. Good Luck.

I don't think your diet would have something to do with that. You should see a doctor and make sure it's nothing serious.
