Why is it people on this forum never point out this behavior or ask why there are so many good cops?

Truly! Salutes to you all! That's an awesome report! Stuff like this should make greater headlines; people would feel that there's more humanity in the world. It's edifying & encouraging. I know officers are in compassionate moments like this daily; people just don't hear about it. I like how she kept asking about the officer & he came to visit her. He was her comfort & help like many of you are during troublesome times! Officers are trained to assist physically & mentally; they/you make a big difference! Thanks for your service! We love ya! ❤
~It made me cringe at first (was hard to watch & listen to); but was pleasantly surprised about the happy ending! =)
added after thumb up: Remember POW Jessica Lynch? When she lay in the hospital, they didn't have the modern medicine we have here. A nurse held her hand & sang to her daily to bring her comfort. In times like that, someone waiting patiently by can make a situation more bearable or even bearable...
It's caring about people & helping others. Soo many ppl look or walk the other way & expect someone else to intervene & provide service (that cops provide)... many cops are certified to assist medically before EMTs arrive... they wear many hats, have been trained in many aspects to help... =)
Holding her hand may have been a small thing (or perceived to be small, to some) but it was huge to her... & psychologically he knew what to say to bring her comfort & help keep her relaxed... many cops have that air about them... =)
Right to Bruce, it shouldn't be like that... good cops should be newsworthy; heroic deeds should be aired more often... it's a mentality; ppl are sponges some times.... they hear about insensitivity & it rubs off on them.... if you had more edifying things being reported that are happening, it would edify others... in turn, it would help their mentality & therefore their actions.... attitudes are catchy & attitudes pilot people some times....
added after two thumbs up: this should be the norm: http://www.clackamas.us/sheriff/praise.jsp =)

I checked your "about me" a long time ago to see if you were a legit officer, and I can tell by your answers that you are. I also came upon your department's website which is informative, helpful, & professional. It's nice to see officers as human beings & that there are many out there that are doing an outstanding, professional job. Hats off to you, Sgt., & your department! I'll take this opportunity to send praise your way. =)

Oh my dear polizeit..... the reason is bc the ppl on this forum are here bc they are in trouble..therefore, they are not happy w/ cops. Also, it is a fact that most cops are not as nice as you. Furthermore, ppl online in general are negative nellies. For instance... 95% of the answerers tell every asker that they're guilty as sin and will be receive the maximum penalty. ppl by nature are just judgmental and mean. And the Internet provides an outlet for human nature's ugly side to come through.
Example:
Q: I texted this guy and he hasn't written back in 5 minutes, what does this mean?
A: It means he's not into you at all and you are going to be arrested for harassment
Asker cires
Another example:
Q: I'm 16 and got a parking ticket. What happens if I don't tell my parents or show up to court?
A: You will be stoned to death bc you're the worst person in the world
Asker cries
Thx for sharing that lovely, uplifting article!!!! btw, good news isn't ask marketable as bad news... let's change the world, you and me!!! muah

Well there is a vested interest in bad news. It sells just like sex!
Let us be honest, this was a great deed; it was small but meant a lot.
So now the fun starts
Why di the media 90+ % have negative stories for humanity to consume.
Then also why is the market all negative?

They criticize the cops in YA because they are otherwise weak and powerless to confront the police, so it gives them a sense of control. They are losers who can't handle authority figures, cops, or anyone else. They are real brave, and nasty and sarcastic, as long as they can hide behind their anonymous computers, like Legit, or Prussian Blue or Jimmy Whispers do.

no,i think it is right that Yahoo! do this ================ (1) it means that people will actually post a decent question that they need answers for,if they received points for asking then the site would be flooded with point gaming garbage (2) it means that it makes the user want to regain their points so they answer a couple of questions....this way they are giving and receiving from the community ========= -Jake

Most cops and firefighters and EMS technicians would not hesitate to do this kind of thing every day of their lives. It's expected, and they're well-paid for it.
The bad ones get all the press because the public does not forgive betrayal.

There is a saying the the media industry..."the need to entertain outweighs the need to inform". Bad cops are newsworthy, good cops are not.
