What is industrial chemistry, and what are some of the jobs associated with it?

Industrial chemistry is where large amounts of a chemical, or chemicals are produced for sale.

This involves chemists who must know the whole process from beginning to the end. After that they must be able to analyses the product in detail at frequent intervals in order to check if it is producing the product as planned. He would have know when and hnow much of the reactants must be purchased or produced ahead of time in order to keep the manufacture efficient. This involves a large staff of chemists and assistants, and possibly on a 24 hour schedule. Most of these processes are on-going 24 hrs, a day.

Industrial chemistry employs many chemical engineers in the fields of petrochemistry, petroleum refining, process engineering, nuclear engineering, polymer production, fermentation technology, medical engineering, etc.It includes analytical chemistry, quality control, Research and development to name a few.
