What are the ratings of the JL 12w3-d4?

Question

I have a pair of JL 12w3-d4 sub woofers. I know that they are DVC 4 ohm and that they are pretty old. Because of the age, I cannot find a ratings list on them. The only thing that I saw (that was of little use) was a bunch of people arguing on some forum somewhere, and one of them said that it can handle 600 watts max. I just need to know for sure, since it seemed like they were just saying things to irritate each other. Any definitive help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would not use a power amplifier that could deliver
over 500 watts per channel into a 4 ohm load as your
speakers are not really meant to operate above 500

I have 3 jl 12w3 the old kinds amd I have them running parrelel at 2ogma on a hifonics zues 3200 and it powers them fine I have to have the level little past half way amd the volumeax for the subs to max out I would recomended some fi cus my brother has 2 fi btl 12s and my 3 jl's don't come close to his 2 amd he's only running 2000 watt hifonics brutus
