Why do the contestants on the tv show "Survivor" have to burn their buffs when getting voted off?

    it's just for Redemption island, instead of burning their torches(At Tribal Council) it's their Buff's

    The Challenges for Redemption island are done during the day so it wouldn't make sense to burn their torches again.

    It's just a way of saying your out of the game.
