    If your dog is eating well for all three meals, do not go to twice a day until he is at least 6 months old. Feed the amount on the bag of food you are using. Goldens have a tendency to get chubby, and although it's acceptable in puppies by the time he is a year old the puppy chubbiness should be gone.

    Here is a way to tell if your dog is at the correct weight;

    I have a 7 month old Golden Retriever Pup. When she was 3 months old our vet advised us feed her according to what the bag says.

    You can also use the "dog food calculator" which I personally have been doing. It asks for a weight, how active your dog is, and the foods calories per serving and then estimates how much you should feed your dog.

    What I would recommend for a 3 month old is to feed him 3 times a day with half dry and half canned food. This way you know he will grow very nicely with no problems in the future with hip displasia or anything that can be a costly vet visit.

    I currently feed my 6 and a half month old girl golden retriever 3 times a day and have ever since she was a baby. I think it helps her grow slowly and accordingly. We feed her a cup of dry food topped with water and half a can of canned food 3 times a day and she seems to be doing very well. Make sure to give him high amounts of protein because puppies need the extra nourishment for growth.

    Try to stay away from feeding name brand dog food or any food meat by-product ingredients.. Meat by-products are everything that is left over after they take the meat off the animal.. From beaks to hooves to snouts.. Pretty nasty and I wouldn't want my dog eating it. The only reason they enjoy the taste is because they add artificial flavoring which makes it smell and taste some-what okay.

    I would recommend trying out dogfoodadvisor.com it has been a great help to me. I feed my puppy 5 star brand foods and she loves them and I know that they have great ingredients. It may be a little more expensive than IAMS or PURINA but it is well worth it.

    Make sure if you are giving your pup kibble you add water because he still has his baby teeth and the dry food can be hard to chew until he gets his adult teeth at around 4-5 months.

    Good luck and if you have any questions please let me know. I am going to school for veterinary science and love to talk about pet nutrition.

    That puppy needs to be fed three times a day until he is around 6 months old. I do hope this doesn't mean he is also going to be alone during the day...

    He should be on a LARGE BREED puppy kibble to help him avoid orthopedic problems - and she needs three meals of approximately 1.5 cups with just enough water to make to make it float.

    Three months is a little young to be eating 2x a day. If you do this, monitor her closely for a while to make sure she doesn't become hypoglycemic. Also, ask your vet, not us. Advice is free, and they know your dog better than any of us do.

    Pups need to eat every few hours.

    I free fed my puppy kibble. If that is something you don't want to do I would say 4 times a day at the most.

    I don't think you can do anything to make it grow. I think height is predetermined in animals just as it is in humans.
