Xbox has cheaper price, but to decide which one you should get I would suggest you to read this review from a gamer of both consoles:

Here you can find the bestselling model of XBox sold at a discounted price (check other bundles as well):

If you decide to go for the PS3, you can find it at a good price here:

The PS3 is a technically better system, it will last longer. Also, with everything that comes with it (Blu-Ray Player, WiFi connectibility, Bluetooth compatibility, Free online network [PSN]) you will spend less on the PS3 even though it has a higher price tag than the 360. only like 40 dollars more .. Also the 360 is notorious for failing...almost anyone you talk to that has a 360 has had the dreaded RRoD (Red Ring of Death) where the only way to fix is to send the system in for repairs.

As for games...no problem there. The PS3 has the best exclusives this year, hands down. There is no denying that. PlayStation Store is host to tons of movies, TV shows, demos, and downloadable games. PlayStation 3 also offers Home, a Second Life sort of experience where you can set up shop in a virtual world. Sony had been hyping this feature for years, but PlayStation Home is now generally regarded as a pile of doo doo.

Just like the Xbox 360, there are plenty of ways to get digital media streamed over the console via a home network or a third-party product like PlayOn. You can also hook up a device via USB and play media that way as well. Netflix does not require a disc anymore to stream, and this year the PS3 added Hulu Plus, Vudu, NHL, and HBO content support.

The PS3 also now supports 3D movies as well as a growing list of 3D games. Of course you’ll need a new 3D HDTV to enjoy this content, but it is the only console pushing the initiative.

The PS3 is best for: Hard-core gamers who aren’t concerned with the ultimate online experience; early adopters and fans of 3D; do-it-yourselfers; videophiles who need the latest and greatest in Blu-ray; content-conscious media consumers.

PS3 Exclusives God of War Collection,

    God of War III,

    Gran Turismo 5,

    , Heavenly Sword,

    Heavy Rain, Infamous

    , Killzone 2

    Killzone 3

    InFamous

    InFamous 2

    Uncharted 2

    Uncharted 3

    3D Dot Game Heroes

Wireless included with PS3 while XBOX needs £100 network adapt.

PSN is Free and Xbox Live is . £70 a year

Rechargable controllers are standard w/PS3 XBOX needs £30 batt pack

PS3 better exclusives IMO (not a factual statement JMO)

Bluray - XBOX doesn't have it

    Bluetooth -

    Less fail rate

Can upgrade to much larger HD

In my opinion, I would choose Xbox 360 as my first choice of gaming console. Specially, You can play Halo Reach with your friends. Tons of games and Great Graphics. Eventhough you pay online to play, It's definitely worth it. Here a little information i know about the Xbox 30.

The Xbox 360 is a total media center that allows users to play, network, rip, stream and download all types of media, including high-definition movies, music, digital pictures and game content.

The Xbox 360 can also display pictures and perform slideshows of photo collections with various transition effects, and supports audio playback, with music player controls accessible through the Xbox 360 Guide button.

The Xbox 360 is available in three standard variants; the "Xbox 360 Arcade", the "Xbox 360 Premium", and the "Xbox 360 Elite". There is also the latest Xbox 360 Slim, is just the same with the great Xbox 360 experience with added features like a new sleek smaller form factor case and controller with matching color scheme, 250 GB internal hard drive. This enormous hard drive gives you more than enough room to install all your games and download endless content from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Wi-Fi is built-in for easier connection to the world of entertainment on Xbox LIVE, where HD movies and TV stream in an instant.

Performance: Reading the specifications PS3 is more noticeable. Actually, it’s quite inferior to the XBOX. Without getting into too numerous details, the three general-purpose CPU’s of xbox 360 are greater than SPU’s on the PS3. I

Graphics The GPU is much noticeable on XBOX 360. It has more powerful FillRate, and more pixel and vertex processing. The identical vertex shader will run much slower on the PS3 than the XBOX 360. The 360 also has a brilliant new way rendering high definition anti aliased back buffers. By the way, if you are looking for a site with Games and a lot of reviews for Xbox 360 you can find it here : Best Xbox 360 Games . If you are a PS3 fan, you also can find a lot of Games and reviews here : Best PS3 Games .

To achieve the same result on PS3 is much more expensive. For this cause I think many games will have no choice but to run in non-HD resolutions on the PS3 version, use a lower quality Anti-aliasing technique, or do back buffer upscaling. The last result in all cases is going to be noticeably poorer image quality.

Another evident point is that right now the xbox 360 already has a very stunning line-up of titles on store tables; the PS3 just launched, and has virtually nothing of interest. As Well, many Xbox360 games are already discounted. PS3 games are all full price since it just launched.

The PS3 gets one built in (blu-ray). The xbox 360 provides HD-DVD as an add-on for $200. You probably don’t care about HD-DVD right now. But you will shortly (The quality between DVD and HD is comparable to to VHS vs DVD, if you have the right TV) so I indicate paying attention to the war that’s started out.If you rent a BLU-RAY DVD from Bockbuster, it won’t run in your XBOX 360 HD-DVD, and vice versa with the PS3.

    xbox 360

    pros

    -american style

    -best controller

    -amazing exclusives

    -voice commands (kinect)

    -cheap

-lots of games (with very few JRPGs)

    -cross game chat

    -nice ingame dashboard

    -all arcade games have trials

    cons

-paid xbox live service (5€/month)= you need to pay to play online games

    -few exclusives

-old console has high failure rate (RROD)

    -cant use external HDD

    expensive games (on amazon)

    ps3

    pros

    -Japanese style

-works has a media center (can read hdd and make slideshow of photos)

    -many good exclusives

-lots of japanese games like gundam, naruto, bleach ,catherine, ace R,etc

    -region free

    -bluray

    -free online

    -cheaper games (on amazon)

    cons

-poor ingame dashboard (too simple for the ps3 power)

    -no cross game chat

-third party games are "normally worse"

-controller isnt as comfortable and doesnt use analog triggers

    - no compression (save games with too many MBs, i have 20 games with a few DLC and i have 30gb used)

-losing features, from ps2 compatibility to linux.

    - doesnt do 1080p upscaling

-doesnt adapt do the tv (for example you have your ps3 with hdmi connection, change to a av connection and you have to reset the console definitions)

My advice is buying both! if you are a hardcore gamer. if you arent,i hope that after reading my opnion above you should have an idea of you console of choice. if you havent decided yet i will give you a few more factors:

-buy the console that matches you best! if you like japanese culture go to ps3 if you prefer a more american approach go to xbox 360

-buy the console that your closest friends have. that way you can share experiences online. nowadays there are lots of co-op games. playing them with a friend will give rewarding experiences for the both of you.

After having both sistems i am almost sure that wahtever console you pick, you will be satisfied , jus remeber to buy the best games for your console. games like ME, DA:O, killzone, Halo, oblivion,LBP, GoW, Fifa,,borderlands, batman, etc

Source(s): i have currently all gaming consoles with the exception of the PSVita. Most pros and cons are my opinion you may or may not disagree with them.
