IF you had an OLD RUSTY car that never needed gas would you drive it?

Just wondering as i have an 30 year old car with rust and no a/c and typical old car problems. I choose to drive it instead of buying a new one cause i HATE to pay for gas

(it runs on used cooking oil which i have an unlimited personal supply)

getting a new car that runs on cooking oil is not an option

who else would do this?

Hey! I'm just like you. Here's what I drive:

I found this old electric car (over 30 years old) on eBay for about $2000. I bought it, put some new batteries in it (costs about $800 for a set), and I've been driving this for about 5 years.

I've needed to do work on the body, suspension, and brakes - but not on the motor. Electric motors are extremely reliable. It has all its original parts, and has never needed maintenance of any kind in all that time.

Electricity to run it is extremely cheap. Nothing beats driving past gas stations.

I would use it a lot, but not when I take my kids around. However I don't have an unlimited supply of cooking oil....and I don't see how you do

As long as the suspension, steering, seatbelts/airbags are in working order, then I might get a kick out of driving such a vehicle.

I'm not too sure that I could get my wife to ride with me, though.

Definitely no matter how crappy it looks! Think of the money you're saving, who cares if anyone thinks it looks like a major ground scraper.
