Computer Infected With Virus - Unable to Open Programs?
I can't open any programs on my Windows 7 Dell desktop. I had seen a bunch of trojan virus things, but I get them occasionally and they are normally nothing, I don't have any virus protection except the default Windows 7 Security. I thought shutting down the desktop until I can do something would be best, so it's off. I need any help and I need it as soon as possible. This computer is only a year old and a decent one at that, I really want it to keep on working, but I'm not afraid of losing data, I have nothing important on it. Please help!

I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND! For the past 2 days, I have been trying to get the trojan viruses off and I finally did it a few hrs. ago =P...I've had my computer for only a year now too, so I was really frustrated.
So here are the steps that I did...
1. If there is more than one account on your computer, make sure that your account is the administrator. And make sure that you have a password for your account because you may come across the computer asking for the administrator's permission, so you will need a password. (I didn't even have a password on mine, but it still asked so I made one)
2. Right when your computer turns on, you will see that screen at start up that's all black and has all these choices in white. Like start computer and safe mode, safe mode with networking etc. Click safe mode with networking. Safe mode makes it, so the virus can't see what you are doing. When I wasn't on safe mode, the virus exed out of anything for me that involved getting rid of the virus. BEYOND ANNOYING! lol
3. Once you get into your account go to internet and go to malwarebytes.org. (Left click and pick "Run as administrator" (will ask for password) and that way should give you access until you get rid of the crap!)
4. When you download it (choose full scan-it may take a little while...it was about 45 mins. for me, but can go up to 1 1/2 hr. according to a site I went on), follow the steps and it will ask you to reboot. Everything was good after I did that! You will be able to access your files as usual....
Good luck =)

If you buy a computer after you set it up get the firewall on immediately, download a antivirus Avast! or AVG are free so do that, delete them from the computer now and do whatever you can to keep your computer safer. Then your done! your computer is now safe and protected. Follow my steps to keep it safe. Heres a fact: if you have firewall off your chances of malware are increased even for a minute it is increased so keep it on. Please turn your antivirus you have right now and get Avast! Free AntiVirus or AVG Free edition, Warning: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GET 2 ANTIVIRUSS AT THE SAME COMPUTER THEY WILL CANCEL EACH OTHER OUT AND FAIL, THEN YOU HAVE TO GET A NEW ANRIVIRUS! I hope this awnsers your question ;)
