A nice website for current snow cover is the National Weather Service's National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center, which uses satellites to "see" snowpack over the United States. http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/snow_model/images/full/... - current snow cover. Parent website: http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/

Essentially, it uses the albedo and temperature of infrared radiation reflected back to space to "see" snow.

Yes, a few states have snow right now. Most of the states are in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado has snow in its higher elevations right now and this is the same with Idaho and Wyoming. Also, the southwest (Some of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas) are expecting blizzard conditions with snow accumulating up to 18 inches tonight and tomorrow. The east and midwest on the other hand, has had only dustings of snow. Don't worry though, because of the fact that colder temperatures will be moving in and possibly creating snow by New Years.

    Hope this helped,

    Good Luck!
