So, I'm thinking about getting Skyrim....?
I've heard from other people how good the game is but I have a few questions about it. Since it is technically titled: The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, making it the 5th game. Would I have to have played any of the other games to understand this one or is it like Final Fantasy where none of the other games intertwine with each other? Also are there any cons to this game that would make me not want to buy it?
thanks in advance.

No, you do not need to have played the other games to play skyrim. They explain everything to you. That being said you would probably want to explore the games stories and etc. There are lots of interesting things in the elder scrolls. What people do not understand is that Bethesda can do so much with this series game. The series takes place on a vast continent.. Then there are other continents which probably won't be discovered by the player anytime soon. Get it, its fun and very interesting and can actually make you a better gamer in whatever game you play(seriously). I suggest you play the other games to. Budget but ridiculously fun. I think the Daedric princes are the most interesting fictional characters ever made. Bethesda puts so much detail into the smallest things. Which is why its so fun and great. My brother has never played the elder scrolls ever. But he absolutely loves skyrim. He is much older than me and I actually thought he played the series but I was surprised that he never played before lol

You don't need to have played the other games in the series to understand Skyrim. They are set in the same world but the main storyline is completely different in each of the games and isn't relevant in Skyrim. I can't think of any cons to buying the game, as with all games there are a few minor bugs but I've not encountered anything game breaking and I've played for about 30 hours so far. If you enjoy RPG's with a huge game area that you can walk around freely and epic quests (did I mention the dragons?) then you'll probably like Skyrim. Hope this helps =)

You don't have to have any experience in oblivion/morrowind/daggerfall to be able to understand skyrim. It's a pretty straight forward adventure-rpg game. The only cons are it's still a bit buggy and there's no multiplayer. Other than that it's by far the best game I've played this year.

No, you do not need to have played any of the other games to understand it. The world and story are all it's own although it does refer to the other worlds such as Oblivion. The only con is that it can become boring or tedious. There is a lot of just walking around.

You don't need to have play the other games to understand this one , I wouldn't buy it , simply because there are better games coming out like GTA 5 , but if you want to , then go for it , there's nothing really BAD about this game
