I don't know, what kind of kindle you have - i own the Kindle Keyboard. And there is it this way:
Joytick Button > Click on the right side, and then scroll dawon to "Delete this Sample" or "Remove from Device".

Hi. It's easy. Go to your Kindle's "HOME" screen, then use the Scroll Wheel to go to the menu and select "Content Manager."Once you are in the Content Manager, select the Sample(s) you want to remove by clicking next to that line with the Scroll Wheel (an "X" will appear in the box to the right of your selections). The scroll down to the menu line at the bottom of the screen, chooses “Remove Selected Items,” and confirms when your Kindle double-checks with you.
