Skyrim: stolen Dragon Priest masks...?
playing the X-box version of Skyrim, was storing my dragon-priest masks in a container I -thought- would be safe, a chest on top of the tall shelf in the Harbingers room of Jorvaskr (after becoming harbinger.) Well, wouldn't you know it, after going to drop one off for the first time in 10 levels (well past the 'reload a save' mark) I've found the chest empty, -all- my Dragon Masks gone. I'd found seven, now I've got just one. Am I royally f-u-c-k-e-d here, i.e never able to complete the 'get all dragon masks' aspect of the game? Or is there any way to retrieve significant items that have vanished from containers?

Sorry, you can't get them back now. :( This happened to me early in the game also, it really sucks. The only chests that you can really be sure are safe are ones in a house you bought.

Wow your picture is creepy, anyway, no sadly there is no way to determine who stole your masks, they should have had something like that in the game in which the thief would drop something like a note from someone that identifies them so you can reclaim your goods, shame they didn't.
You should just have bought your own house. It costs a total of about 7500 for a fully equipped house that you can securely store a gigantic amount of items in, worth every penny.

Yeah, sorry bro. You are f.u.c.k.e.d. You can at least look in everyone's inventory and try to steal back the masks if anyone has any.

chests you randomly find refresh themselves. you needed to put them into a chest at a home you buy
