The Tomorrow Series- John Marsden (Tomorrow when the war began is the first. there are seven, about 200 pages each, easy read but BRILLIANT)
The Mortal Instrument Series (City of Bones is the first, four are out and two are coming out soon. about 400 pages each and AWESOME)

I've heard the Morganville series is really good, if you want to stick with the Vampire theme.
Also, try the classic 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker :D
