when ethanol is dehydrated we have ethylene and another product, with methanol only one dehydration product?

besides water that is, What other organic product accompanies ethylene and what product is that with methanol dehydration

    You must be thinking of intramolecular dehydration (CH3CH2OH ---> CH2=CH2 + H2O) and intermolecular dehydration (2 CH3CH2OH ---> CH3CH2-O-CH2CH3 + H2O)

    Since you cannot make a 1 carbon alkene, methanol can only undergo the latter reaction.

    C2H5OH + H2SO4 = C2H2 +H2O

    CH3CH2OH + H2SO4 (dehydrator) --> H2C=CH2 + H2O

    There is no such chemical called methene, because you have only one carbon to start with. so it is impossible to get a double bond.
