This behavior occurs when the internal temperature of the console exceeds the acceptable limits. You may think of this as too hot, overheating, and so on.

You should get a new powerbirick if it continues after you have left it unplugged for a while. I don't know bud.

    Here are Some Steps:

    1. Let the Xbox 360 console cool.

Note You may have to wait several hours for the console to cool enough. Do not turn on the console when the console is hot.

    2. Verify that the console has sufficient ventilation and that the fans are operating. For more information about ventilation, see the "More Information" section.

    3. If the two lights continue to flash red after you try steps 1 and 2, contact Xbox Customer Service

According to Microsoft the light turns red when:

    • When there is too much current

    • When the voltage is too high

    • When the temperature is too high

All of these are usually temporary conditions.. so if you unplug it (like you did) and let it cool down it should work again..

Make sure the power supply gets enough air.. I have mine up on small 1 inch blocks so it gets air on all sides.. if it is stuffed behind a cabinet or something it might not get enough air flow..
