Will a dog be hurt badly if hit by a car 5mph?
today i was walking my dog and a car turned cuz it was dark and didnt c me and hit my dog and he barked but like the scarred kind also hes a beagle but he was hit near his rear. After he got hit he just kept going as usual business and i checked if his back legs and tail were fine. So im just wondering if he can be severely hurt and i just cant tell?
I forgot to add he is seeing the vet anyway this weekend so i will be asking there to.

Your dog should be checked by a vet. There could be internal bleeding, and who knows what else.

If you really want to know then you would take the dog to the vet. He just got hit by a car. Dogs are good at hiding their pain. The vet will be able to x-ray his rear legs to make sure nothing is wrong.

Anytime a dog is hit by a car no matter how fast or slow they are going, you should always get the dog checked by a vet, just because he didn't seem to have anything wrong with him does not mean that is so.I cant answer this question because I am not a vet.

It's hard to say. My dog got hit by a car and was fine, just ended up damaging a tooth so now he has to get it pulled. But you never know, so you should probably take him to the vet.

You should have gotten the license plate number, called the police, and should take him ti the vet in the morning. Yes, damage often doesn't show right away, even at 5 mph.
