    Neutralization: strong acid+strong base. The H+ from the acid (or any compound that takes away the OH from H20) bonds with OH of a base (or any substance that takes away H+ from H2O)

    Examples:

    HCl+NaOH---->H2O+ NaCl (neutralization)

    NH3+H2O+ H+----> H2O+NH4+(neutralization)

    Na+H2O+OH- ------> NaOH+H2O

    The vast majority of reactions I can think of that include H+ and OH- ions are neutralization reactions.

    neutralization occurs because the H+ and OH- combine to make neutral water.
