China is supposed to overtake us in a few years,why will we still be better off than them?

China is overtaking you because you have poor, and corrupt leadership. the sooner you recognise this, the sooner you can overthrow your govt, and create a real 'democratic' govt, where if the govt doesnt represent the people, then they get fired immediately. the way it stands right now is that the usa is overun by corrupt politicians who take orders from multinational corporations, not average workers

Even if China becomes the world's largest economy, the size of the population means that most people will still live in poverty.

In addition, China has escaped the financial crisis because it keeps large reserves or currency, and only spends on things like parks, gardens, rockets, large police force, olympics etc and not on things like hospitals or social security.

Most companies and rich people in China pay little or no tax (avoiding their tax obligations) so while they might be powerful the people are still poor.

Similar to the US, where it is a rich country but with more people than most developed countries lving in poverty

You are misinformed. China will not overtake nor take over anyone. Even if China will someday become the world's largest economy, it will still have a very low per capita GDP. Simply put, it has so many people to house and feed, that most Chinese people will still be struggling to earn a living.

china isnt supposed to take over you guys... but they have the ability to... and you wouldnt exactly be better off without them since most of the stuff heres made from china... and its cheaper to get stuff there... if not for that .. things would be really expensive here
