Is internet free on my android phone?

When you're connected to your home Wifi, the internet is as free as your home internet connection.

However, if you have a data plan that charges significant amounts of money for data usage, you should disable the cellular data connection on the phone. So that way, if you temporarily lose the connection to your Wifi router, you're not surprised by huge data charges when your phone silently switches to using the cellualar data network - it's easy to not notice that the Wifi icon dissapeared, especially because some aplications hide the status bar.

It's free over wifi if your connected to home network. but if your using internet without wifi this will charge you on pay as you go unless you set up a data plan were you will probably pay 10 pound a month of 500mb internet or above

If the phone is connecting to your Wi-fi (make sure it is) then the phone company should not be charging you since you are NOT using their phones system and your phone minutes. That said, an easy check is to simply check your minutes with your plan and then use the internet for 15 minutes and then re-check your minutes after using the internet and find out if it has changed.

It shouldn't. I have an iPhone 4s and it automatically will connect to my home (encrypted) Wifi when it gets within range and will not use any of our data plan minutes.

yes internet is free when you re using wifi.however dont make the mistake i made,i had a contract wich dosnt include internet however my data roaming was on this ment that money was added on to my monthly payment.also my friend has a pay as you go android and when she wasnt on facebook or android market money was being taken of what she had topped up because of daTA roaming .to turn it of go to settings-wireless nets-mobile network settings-data roaming(just click it of)

Wifi at home is free, but 3G is not, you need a data plan for 3G!
