About writing an outline?
I'm going to start writing an outline for my story and I wanted some tips on how I should do it and some things I should incorporate. I really suck at this kind of thing, so advice is really appreciated. How do you normally do outlines?

I'd recommend the "Idiot's" and "Dummie's" guides.
"The complete idiot's guide to writing a novel" 2nd ed. (2010) by Thomas F. Monteleone,
The complete idiot's guide to creative writing 2nd ed.(2004) by Laurie Rozakis.
Writing fiction for dummies by Randy Ingermanson (2010)
Writing young adult fiction for dummies 1st ed. - by Deborah Halverson, (2011)
in the early 808 section of your public library. Subject entries are:
Creative writing.
Fiction--Authorship.
Fiction--Technique.
I usually interview my characters, and make lists and sketches of what they 'tell' me. Those guides have good lists what to ask. My characters never answer everything the first time, and sometimes, when I am in the midst of the book, I've found out they weren't straight with me.
There is also a book by Patricia Highsmith - Plotting and Writing Suspense Fiction. It was published in 1990 and may not be available anywhere but in a library (I hope); but it is excellent.

I usually just do bullet-points. Some people do chapter summaries.
Lol, I wouldn't recommend buying a book just to outline a novel...
