what is it like to live in north korea?

You sing songs everyday about the leader Kim Jong Ill.

You pray everyday for the leader Kim Ill.

You have no internet access.

Cell phone calls within the country (within North Korea itself) are monitored.

Young children are taught to "kill the American dogs".

Citizens are brainwashed, like really brainwashed.

Recentlly, Kim Jong Ill has passed away. Now his youngest son Kim Jong Woon will take over.

No one on here will know since the government of North Korea does not allow the internet or its subjects to communicate with the outside world. Other than total isolation, getting by on a very meager subsistence and freezing your nads off, life is pretty normal, as far as they know. No exposure to the outside world means they have no idea what your life is like or that the government doesn't run the rest of the world.

I spent 2 weeks in North Korea as part of a United Nations mission to return remains of US Soldiers killed during the Korean War and when asked by my "minder" if I had a telephone in my house I answered that I have only one telephone line but that I have 4 handsets so that I can answer the phone in almost any room in my home. I then told him that my wife has a cell phone and so do I so that we can communicate no matter where we are or when we need to speak. He told me that I was only telling him such lies because I thought he was ignorant. True Story.

Probably the worst country in Asia to live. Much of the population is going hungry. Little freedoms.

You're lucky if you eat everyday.

They don't allow tourists. Even those who are allowed into the country have a government aid at their

side every second they are in public.

Home computer ? Not in your life.

From what I gather

no food

no electricity

no free choice

and if you don't shed crocodile tears for dear leader you will be carted off to jail and tortured

Unimaginable. Just can't get such a thing wrapped around my brain.

Nobody is allow leave, Talk to outsider, no phones really.

Like being a starving animal in a zoo that has been abandoned.
