Which NY Knicks rotation would have been better? Could either win a Championship?

This year's projected team.

STARTERS

PG- Baron Davis

SG- Landry Fields

SF- Carmelo Anthony

PF- Amar’e Stoudemire

C- Tyson Chandler

BENCH

6th Man- Toney Dougas

G- Iman Shumpert

G- Billy Walker

F- Jared Jeffries

F/C- Josh Harrellson

G- Mike Bibby

F- Renaldo Balkman

Or this team. (Basically last season's team that was traded for Carmelo, along with some of this years free agents they could have picked up like Affalo, Chandler without Melo's huge contract holding them back)

Starters

PG- Raymond Felton

SG- Arron Affalo

SF- Danilo Gallinari

PF- Amar’e Stoudemire

C- Tyson Chandler

BENCH

6th Man- Wilson Chandler

G- Toney Douglas

F- Caron Butler

G- Landry Fields

C- Timofey Mozgov

G- Iman Shumpert

F/C- Josh Harrellson

Me personally I like the second team better. It's a far deeper team and would have been far better on defense and maybe even offensively as well.

Update:

Wilson Chandler probaly would have signed an extension with the Knicks prior to the offseason. Don't get me wrong Melo's a very good player but he's really only special at scoring. I just don't see the point in two "superstars on one team." i think the term "superstar" is used to loosely in the NBA and it unneccessarily increases the value of some players. I think any team would take one star player and an elite supporting cast, rater than two start players and a pencil thin rotation to work with.

As for the free agents, I'm just speculating the Knicks would have been able to get them on their respective current salaries had they not overpaid both Carmelo and Amar'e.

The first one, just because you have two top 12 players on that team. Especially the Melo part. Wilson Chanlder is stuck in China, so the Knicks are looking pretty smart by trading him. There's also no proof that they could have gotten all three of Affalo, Chandler and Butler in FA

    I really think you're underestimating Melo's value.

particular they are, they might easily do something the Knicks have not carried out in over 30 years, and that's win a championship. as a good distance because of the fact the Knicks pass I anticipate yet another mediocre season by potential of them.
