I really hate my name!! :(?
I used to love my name (Isabella) when I was little. Whenever I told someone my name they would always say it was so pretty/beautiful. But a few years ago, I started hating it. The reason? I guess I could blame twilight. That is what turned my name into such a common name. I feel so unoriginal having that name now, I was always the only person I knew with that name. Now people are naming their kids Isabella nonstop just to call her Bella. It's a boring, common name now like Ashley, Jennifer, Jessica etc. I just wish people would stop naming their kids this, be more original ya know. Name your kids Aurora or Roselia, be original, unlike me.
So, how do you feel about the name Isabella, or any common names for that matter? I would never ever even consider naming a child a common name. I wouldn't want them to feel unoriginal like me. If you are reading this and considering naming your daughter Isabella, please don't. She will be just another factor adding to the millions of other Isabellas.

Aaw, I love Isabella and if I have 2 daughters in the future, one of my daughter's is going to be called Isabella Marie :) Your name is beautiful and very elegant & classy and whenever I hear the name Isabella, I think of a Princess or a ballerina. Your name is gorgeous and you can shorten it to Bella (means beautiful in Italian and I bet you're beautiful). My all time favourite girl's name is Lily and Lily's one of the most popular girl's name is England, but it's so sweet and cute, I can see why it's popular. Just because a name is popular and common, doesn't mean you shouldn't name your daughter or son that name. I love the name Isabella, because it's a stunning name and I don't like Twilight. Isabella is far from boring, it's very long and charming. My name is Henrietta <- come on Henrietta is worse than Isabella. Henrietta is too posh and I am not posh, it's too long, too hard to spell and pronounce. I used to hate my name and I still do deep down, but you get used to your name and it will grow on you. Good luck and Merry Christmas xoxo

I actually still consider Isabella one of the most loveliest names ever! I love this name even though it's super popular. If you think about it your mom or whomever named you liked the name enough to bestow it upon you. Other parents that have Isabella's probably felt the same way that "this name is beautiful and I love it" so why wouldn't they name their baby girl a name they love? The thing about names are that once a name catches on it really catches on and Isabella is one of those names that has. Yes it might have something to do with Twilight but all Stephenie Meyer did was take a vintage name (Isabella), give her the nickname Bella, use it in a book which becomes a worldwide phenomena and eureka you've got yourself an uber popular name!! Stephenie also used vintage names such as Alice, Edward, Rosalie, Jasper and Emmett & those are quite common as well. I know common names are probably annoying to some people because too many people have them but that's how you know so many people like them. Let's say your name is Charleigh which right now is #999 on the top 1000 girl names in the US. If that's your name right now it's not too common but lets say next year it's #9 or something which I don't think is likely to happen but any way let's just say it becomes super popular next year and onward it'd be the same way your name is. I don't think that any name is safe when it comes to popularity. I don't have a problem with popular names actually some of my favorite names are popular like Madison, Chloe, Natalie, Mia and Samantha (for girls) & Jacob, Alexander, William, Liam, Ian, Daniel, Logan, Matthew, James and Gabriel (for boys). I like them and apparently so do other people or else they wouldn't be so popular.

I am with u on this one. I have 2girls and was very careful when picking their names cause I wanted unique but also nothing that has a chance becomming popular down the road. Its hard but I think I id good.
I hate the name Isabella ONLY because everyone is using it. These days everyone has a Lily & a Isabella its so annoying I too wish they would stop already. Sorry ur name got so common. :-(

Sorry to be the bare of breaking bad news but "news flash", you're not the only person in the world to carry a specific name of any kind. Reading this, I can see a greedy person. The whole entire world is on Yahoo Answers to read about how you feel about your name. Sorry, but there is a just few of us on this site compared to the numbers of the world. Um......almost alot of us desires to have a unique name that no one carries. Its hard to come up with alot of names that are unique for about a billion or so people in the world.
In Other Words: Stop being a b!+ch, and just be grateful for your name. Never good to complain. Your name could have been worse. Might as well start to like your name again because you're stuck with it for the rest of your life. Either you can accept your name or start using your middle name for a change!

I HATE that name. it's my middle name. people always wrinkle their nose and say, "isabella like in twilight...?" i was named after my great grandmother back when isabella wasn't common, and i used to love my name too. i used to go by it in third grade. i like my first name, though, which is Erin.
Have you thought of nicknames? you could go by Elle or Ella, which are completely different names but can still be nicknames. Or just go by Isabelle. thats what i tell people my middle name is now.

Isabella is gorgeous!
What about nicknames? Maybe going by your middle name?
Izzy
Bella
Abie
Elle/Ella
Essie

I agree Issabella has become quite common in th US thanks to the popularity of Twilight's main character Bella. I think if your going to call a kid Bella all the time why not name them Bella? I have never considered Bella for a kids name I have one child named Reyna.

I think Isabella is very pretty but you're right, it has become fairly common. Hey, at least your name isn't Makynlyn or Harlequin something. :)

i wouldn't give my child a common name either. i wouldn't give them anything weird or too trendy, the goal is something elegant that can't be made fun of, is not common but still recognizable, easy to spell and pronounce. your name probably wasn't common when you were born though. isabella is elegant and pretty and feminine, and has lots of nickname oppurtunities, like Izzy, Isa (eye-sa), Belle, Elle, Ellie, Ella, and of course Bella. i do quite like the names Annabelle and Arabella, people should be more inventive if they want to nickname their daughter Bella.
