i got a gumpaste rose for christmas. how do i take the base off when im done so i wont eat it?

You can just pop it off. The gumpaste dries hard so treat it just like a royal icing flower. I really am nost sure that you are going to want to eat the gumpaste it traditionally isn't made for it's great flavor. It is beautiful and I love using it on my cakes but only the kids end up eating them ;)
