I have a router that detects Router Behind Router after power up.?

After a router reboot from power failure of glitch, my pc that is on the LAN gets no internet all though I can ping out and use nslookup ok.

To fix the problem I have to connect on the wireless connection and disable the Router Behind Router msg then it all works again.

I have tried disabling an advanced setting but that did not fix the problem.

Its a 2 Wire Wifi router ADSL. Its probably 5 or 6 years old.

Update:

no server or dhcp is running XP home and Vista

If it is not too expensive to replace consider buying a new one.

This message normally means you have a machine running dhcp within your network. Maybe a server? Otherwise a machine with Internet connection sharing turned on. NO machine should have this on when using the router.

login on your wifi router with default identity password, "admin" for the two. goto protection area and look for wpa2 and set a passphrase as properly. you additionally can conceal your community ssid so as that for the time of basic terms you would be waiting to get admission to it.
