ipod nano 5g problems--apple store help?

So i've got the "white screen of death" happening to my ipod nano 5g 8g, and i'm not sure how the white screen occured, i can still BARELY see the letters in my ipod, but once i go to the songs part, I cant even see the black letters. I tried searching online for solutions, such as holding the menu and lock button at the same time till it restarts, but it doesnt fix it. it just goes back to the blurry white screen. So i figured i might as well go to an apple store and ask them to fix it, but the thing is, my warranty expired about a year or two ago, so I'm wondering how much, or if any money they would charge me. If you got any assumptions on how they would go about my problem, please share your answers. and ps. if you have another solution i can try to fix my ipod with, please share. thank you for helping.

Update:

also, the ipod is functioning well, nothing wrong with playing the music. Im only having issues with the white screen covering the screen

I had the same problem on my iPod Touch but came across a site that has multiple methods for different Apple devices on how to clear up the white screen of death. In most cases its not fatal to your device and you just need a little guidance on how to clear up the problem. I am including a link in my source to the site with multiple methods on how to get rid of the white screen of death on your iPod Nano.

that's recommended to objective somebody with slightly greater comments yet different than that it may be superb. some incredibly new sellers continually sell their stuff on ebay, and it does not precisely propose they're scammers.

they will replace the entire device... please refer to the following web page to determine how much it will cost you to buy an out of warranty replacement from Apple.
