How do I cut down a mix?

I am terrible at making gravy, so I use the mixes Mcormicks and others sell. I found a large bag at a bulk store, but the only instructions are to make the whole package, and I do not need 3 qts. I need about 2 cups. Anyone know how to modify the directions?

Stick a couple of teaspoons of it in a cup with a little cold water, keep the cooking water from your veg and some meat juices and then add some of the mixture, add more until it is the consistency you want, maybe add salt and pepper to taste afterwards

4 cups to a quart, so you need to decrease everything by a factor of 6. Divide all ingredients by 6 for two cups.
