What can I use instead of toothpicks?
I am making brocolli and cheese stuffed chicken....I forgot to buy wooden toothpicks to hold it close : /
I have plastic tooth picks?? doesnt seem like a good idea but I have to ask....

Dry spaghetti. Just break to length you need.

no! you are going to bake these and the plastic will melt. if you have a straw broom, you can pick some of the stronger straws out and wash them and use them. you can carve little splinters off the banister or the door frame and wash them and use them to hold your things together. don't use the pieces with paint or varnish, tastes icky!! like the melted plastic tooth picks.
best idea is to run to the store and get some tooth picks!!!

Plastic will definitely melt. I have used the picks you use to open nuts, aluminum baking nails and of course shishkebab skewers.

use string to hold them closed .After cooking cut the strings off and remove before serving.
