Will my heat lamp melt a plastic screen tank top?

I have had it on there for about 10-15 minutes and so far it is showing no sign of melting. I really need a "yes or no" answer because I am leaving for vacation in about 1 hour and I need to know if I need to go buy a metal screen top. Thanks ahead of time :)

It shouldnt, I have a 20 gallon long tank with a metal screen top and use a 60 watt night bulb at night for my leopard gecko and have never had a problem with the top melting. The metal is strong and you shouldn't have any problems with a light fixture.

It depends on the wattage of the bulb.

I know anything over a 40 watt bulb (40 is fine, over 40 is bad) will melt the plastic on the exoterra units

I used to maintain person Mexican crimson-Legs (6-inch leg span) in a 5-gallon tank and that grow to be plenty great sufficient. a 10-gallon tank might take in pointless area. they are going to under no circumstances understand the version.
